We are now called Ethical Pixels, with fresh branding to match!
The new year is a great time to take stock of our mission, approach and messaging. The reason we exist in the first place was in response to the state of the digital industry, and the experiences of a lot of our clients.
Some companies talk a big game about embracing noble ideals, or doing the right thing, but fall short of actually understanding or living their brand values. For some, it’s just words. A marketing gimmick.
Not for us. We wanted to be better. As such, our mission became less about being ‘noble’ as it was about being ethical. Doing the right thing, even if it wasn’t the easiest or most convenient for us. Doing right by our clients, partners, and the users who would interact with the things we built.
Over the last 4 years, we’ve shunned dark patterns, harmful marketing techniques, data exploitation, combative or exploitative business practices and the most extreme examples of technology that harms society. It has cost us business here and there, but it’s also helped us build relationships with the kind of organisations that think like we do and want to make a better web. We were also recognised as Best UK-Wide Ethical Web Design Agency 2022 in the Northern Enterprise Awards.
As such, we wanted to evolve and continue this mission. This change reflects our commitment to making sure all the pixels we touch, from digital branding and websites to emails, apps and tools are as ethical as can be.
What does this mean for me?
For the most part, nothing else has changed – we’re still the same people providing the same great service. All our contracts remain unchanged, and nothing should be interrupted.
If you’re a client, you might notice some changes to our domains, website, emails and other services. Specifically, if you are paying an invoice, your bank might ask you to verify our details again. You can find the latest details here.
If you have any questions about our rebrand, feel free to ask. Otherwise, we look forward to continuing our work in 2023 and beyond.
